Hmmm, 9 wires.... Well, your common ground point might actually be the problem. I'd hook the box lights to the convertor only, use the ground and tail feed coming out of the convertor to those. For the input side, connect your chocolate and dark green turn wires, and t-tap into the existing wires to the OEM tail/brake lights.

hmmm... never though of that! I'll give it a shot in the morning. I had to walk away from it for the night. Frustrated is not the mind set I want when I work on it.
Most anything else I wouldn't care. But I don't need Pop's shoving a lightning bolt up my ass because I started cursing his bike due to my own need to modify it LOL

As Draggon stated, nickel rod, V out the crack all the way with a angle-head or dye grinder, pre-heat, run a bead ONLY one inch, peen the crap out of it with a welding chipping hammer. Come back after cool, re-peat all including the 'weld one inch'......time consuming and that's partly why no one wants to mess with it and partly cause most haven't a clue when it comes to cast iron. JMO and certified structoral steel up to one inch.

yes I forgot to mention small section @ a time.... and most important let cool naturally DO NOT cool with water! the problem most people have with doing cast is they either heat it to critical and then when it cools it cracks along the weld. or they don't let it cool properly. its a tricky deal sometimes. the old timers make it look simple

          Thanks for the help Moto

I get most my best info from my structural customers. most them guys been around the block a time or 2. I'm not nor will ever claim to be a "welder" but I can stick sh* together!

But unlike most people on my side of the industry I've put welds down. My boss can tell you what to use and the process of how to do it. Put the stinger/gun/torch in his hand and say "show me" and a fella will have a good laugh
