  • Updated Tech Forums!

Well, I finally figured out how to move posts to the closed tech forums as part of my mod duties (), so you'll start seeing some new-and-improved tech tips! If you have an already-posted favorite that you think should be posted, let me know here with a link. I've posted a few already, have a bunch more (Cy's auto cancel mod, the auto cam tensioner to name just a few) already waiting in line, they just need some cleaning up/editing. If you've a personal tip/trick you'd like to share, let me know. I won't guarantee everything will make the cut (your mod to mount your chrome cup-holder to your 18" apes won't help too many other members..), but if it's a popular/useful idea we'll see what we can do!

Please DON'T post any tips/how-tos here; post to the correct forum, make sure it's as clearly written as possible, and including pictures will help a lot. I will note that for any pics you post, you'll need to maintain your photo site so we don't end up with dead photo links.

TC and I are also going to try to clean out some of the existing stuff that's out of date or has now-dead links to make the tech forums less cluttered.

Just a heads-up that I'm still posting 'new' tech tips, I'm going to try to do at least a couple per day until I get the backlog whittled down. I'll note that there's a 'mods/admin' forum ('tips under construction') where we (mods) stash tips for editing, etc before posting to the tech forums. Right now I'm going for the low-hanging fruit (ones that need little or no editing), the rate may slow once I get to the longer threads..

Anyway, I've posted tips by mashermoto, planedick, boyat68, dbeardslee, and psycoreefer so far, so I want to thank them for taking the time to put these together in the first place! THANKS!!!

Are you weeding out the unnecessary comments (good comments or bad ones) or are you editing them into just the necessary material and posting just that?

Yes, I'm trying to condense the tips down to one, two posts at the most. I am 'moving' additional or better info that may be in other posts into the final product. It can take some time....

I've posted more new tips today (yeah, I was a slacker for a few days, but hey, I do have a life besides here! ), I'll keep plugging at 'em...

Anyway, I'll thank 81xsproject, dgxser, Bikerphil, Ivan, and trbig for the tips they posted that are now in the respective tip forums!

I'd like to get the Auto cam chain tensioner in there too, but we're still getting more info on that!
