Evaporust? I just looked it up on http://www.evapo-rust.com/ and it looks interesting. I could only find a 32 Oz bottle for $8.95 at Autozone. The web page doesn't mention diluting but to buy enough to fill a tank would cost too much.

Anyone try it after diluting? How'd it go?

      good stuff cheap

I've been using a product from DOLLAR TREE that's $1.00 a quart. Doesn't hurt rubber & dissolves rust overnight.
It's called calcium-lime-rust or some combo of those.

I've used it on lot's of chrome parts & plan to use it on a tank soon. Have left things soaking in it for as long as 36 hours, with no affect on rubber.

      At $4.00 a gallon it's a great deal.

I just buy 2 of the smaller size and move the tank around when I use it. Let it sit on one side for 10 or so hours then move it to where it is hitting other spots. Keep moving it around and it will take care of all the rust with next to no effort.
You can dilute it but it would probably slow it down quite a bit.
