    Hello All, it's been awhile since I had a pickup coil problem, going by memory, if #1 & #3 ain;t firing, that should be the same side, correct? Thanks, Later 'Dog

    Nope, coils and pickups are 1-4 and 2-3.

      1 and 3 actually have nothing in common at all other than being in the same engine. They are on different coils, and they are on separate pairs of the carb bank so they don't share spark or fuel supply.

        so your 1 & 3 are not firing? 1 works with 4 and 2 works with 3. make sure you have the right spark plug wires on the same correct cylinder. i had mine hooked up backwards once and the bike still ran(these are pretty much bulletproof) and ohm out the primary and secondary resistances.

          Could be wires, spark plugs or caps.

            Thanks, I got them to fire, had some bad flooding going on, now got to adjust the carb floats. Later 'Dog

              mine seem to stick open after i empty the float bowls and i just lightly tap them with a hammer to free them up
