    BTW, the chrome trim used to be available from various suppliers. It adds a nice touch. You can also find "peel and stick" camper shell foal rubber seal material that you can cut to fit. You can get that stuff in rolls that has a width of about 2 inches (?) You cut it to fit. It is needed between the windscreen and the plastic and helps to protect against vibration.

      I have used Stainless steel, allen head bolts and nuts on two Windjammers with no ill effects, yet. I make my own windsheilds out of Lexan and I am sure if I ever have an event where I meet the windshield in an unplanned departure from the bike, I may meet some resistance. Of the several windsheilds I have made, I have experienced no cracking from the mounting holes.
