  • XJ11 carb question

Can anybody tell me what the float setting is for an XJ? Is it done the same way as the 81's, using some clear tubing or is there a measured setting? What does the clear tubing method result in inches? I've got a set of carbs that I want to go through, prior to selling them, and I'd like to be able to set them up properly. What is the proper size of the main jets? Jet needle settings, if they are adjustable, pilot screw settings, etc...

    Thanks in advance

      Hi John

Yes, it's like the 81, using the tubing. BUT.... that can be a pain.

I set mine using the other method, and there was a really long thread about my trials and tribulations of jetting my XJ.

Page 4 of this thread has a pic of my floats, and info. For my setup, I wound up with a float height of 22mm. YMMV

The thing is, 20mm is maximum richness, so don't go below that.

Float measurement should be approx 20-23mm

      stock mains are 112.5

      stock pilots are 47.5

The Search tool is an awesome thing....
