I have a 79 XS11 and am putting the filter box back on after removing the carbs. There are three bolts that hold the air filter box to the frame - one on top and one on each side. On the top there is a plate that holds the middle gear case breather tube that connects to the frame - not sure how this fits and does the breather tube just stop there? Is the left side - if sitting on bike - attachment also holding the vent tube for the fuel tank? The right side has a bracket also but it doesn't look like it holds anything. Can anyone provide help or pics? Thanks.

The my bike the right hand side bolt only has a metal corner bracket that holds nothing. I would guess it is to protest the plastic air box from being damaged by the frame when that bolt is tightened up.

The top one holds the wiring harness in place on the right hand side and holds the fuel tank overflow hose on the left hand side.

Top one holds the wiring harness in place on the right side and receives the fuel tank overflow hose on the left side unless on the special. On the special I do not believe there is a purpose because there is no fuel overflow hose.
