  • Sagging Directional Light

When you look at the pics, you can see that the directional light has pulled through the big rubber grommet. You can also see that the rubber grommet seems to be twisted a little bit so that the light would mount facing up to much.

What is supposed to stop the light from pulling to the grommet? How can I turn the grommet around so the light lines up square?

OK. Is there an easy way to turn the grommet a little?

IIRC once you have the turn signal in there and before you wrench down on things to get it tight but after it's up with the big washer against the back, you should be able to just rotate the light and the grommet should just turn with the light. Of course, YMMV.

Your light is still assembled. The long hex nut on the back must come off and the chrome washer under that goes into the round slot on the outside of the grommet. Reinsert the signal and then there should be a washer installed over the stem from the tire side and then the nut. You probably cannot just rotate the grommet as there should be a tang on the frame that sits into a slot in the grommet. I would suggest you CAREFULLY pry the grommet out ans seat it in correctly with the tang in the slot.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.
