There is also JB weld that comes as a stick and you work it together, its kinda like clay and you mash it till it changes colors then you apply it. I imagine thats what the "quick steel" is like also. Just saying.

If you do a search someone before outlined how they fixed their post with a tiny drill bit and a piece of fine wire. Go that route and you won't have to worry about the gas making it soft. I think if I ever break any of mine I'll fix it that way, or buy another carb body.

lay the pivot in place, complete with float, and secure it with a twist of wire; I have fine stainless wire which I use for lock-wiring on the race bikes. It is ideal, but other things work; there is very little load on the pivot, so it does not need to be a strong repair..... Just make sure that the "tail" can't interfere with the float.

Other ways will work, and possibly be "better"..... but this way is quick, cheap, and CANNOT alter the position of the pivot.....

I also saw on the UK site where someone drilled holes through the base and broken part and simply ran small stainless wire through and held it together with that.
