still dont see any clips. guys talk about them, but no see. diagram was for an XJ. maybe ill just take em apart. sick of finding stuff wrong and have to fix, no ride. summer in Chicago ill be over. i lloked at a diagram for my 81 Special, dont know what would be called a clip?

The parts marked #6 in this parts microfiche all come in the OEM pad kits and are available from Bike Bandit. Including rattle clips and screw.
You will need 2 to do both fronts.

thanx BA, but i have an 81 Special. thats a 78 Standard. i look at Bike Bandits diagrams regularly to see what parts are avail and which are not, and to make sure when i have an issue, ive got all the parts i should. very helpful. i found the parts im missin are not avail anymore, so time to think out of the box.Max

Parts 10-23 and 9-22 on this drawing are what was missing, and causing the clicking on mine. Replacing them fixed it, but if all your bits are intact then it's not the same problem.

hey Greg, try keeping those goggles off when posting or wait till ur wipers are working.
but thanx for the effort!
Brian, ive got all the parts shown in the diagram except the inner pad shim on both sides. after making sure all parts were there, i ended up putting some CRC disc brake quiet drying liquid silicone type stuff on em, let it dry overnite, and reinstalled the pads. so far the noise is gone.
