1981 MS rear brake cylinder repair kit

Can anyone tell me what correct rear brake master cylinder repair kit to buy for my bike? I am having trouble finding the correct part. 1981 1100 MS. Thanks for any information.

This is what you need to look for, Yamaha part number 4W1-W0042-00-00, but I don't think it's available any more.

That kit is not available anywhere. I upgraded my rear MC to one from an XJ, since the brakes are the same setup (same lines and everything) and the MC is actually a slightly larger bore. Rebuild kits for the XJ MC are available from Chacal on XJbikes.com (see the link in my signature).
      1980 XS850SG - Sold
      1981 XS1100LH Midnight Special (Sold) - purchased 9/29/08
Fully Vetterized and Dynojet Kit added, Heated Grips, Truck-Lite LED headlight, Accel Coils, Irridium plugs, TKAT Fork Brace, XS850LH Final Drive & Black SS Brake lines from Chacal.
Here's my web page devoted to my bike! XS/XJ User's Manuals there, and the XJ1100 Service Manual and both XS1100 Service manuals (free download!).

Would a 1982 xj 1100 rear master cylinder work on my 1981 sx1100lh.
. Thanks for any help or advice.

Absolutely. That's exactly what I did. The XJ one has a wire for a fluid level sensor, and you just tie it up out of the way, since it has no where to connect on the XS. The XJ brake system is identical to the '81 MNS, except for the sensor and the bore of the MC. If you ever decide to get SS brake lines, the set for the XJ are an exact match.

As a side note, its an XS1100LH, not an SX
