  • Plug wire question

Are the OE plug wires from stock coils a thick copper wire or a very thin silver wire. Still having trouble with 1 and 4 running rich, and was checking to see that corrosion wasn't the issue. Unscrewed the #4 boot and all I found was a thin little silver wire, about the diameter of speaker wire. In my head I'm comparing to what guage automotive systems use, and wondering if I need to cut the jacket back and find a bigger lead?

There should be several wires in the stock high volt plug cables. If you have enough cable left, cut about a half inch off. I like to trim the insulation a just a little bit back so that I can locate the center of the standed wires and screw the plug connector into that. The connectors can go bad as well.

Thanks, Skids. I do have enough left, so after work I will probably trim them back, and take the boots apart as well!
