          Still more:

http://www.650central.com/ has genuine Mikuni. Just match the same year XS650 to XS1100. Be advised, carb bodies are NOT the same, but most parts are.

When you buy parts from a XS650 supplier, make sure it is for the same year bike. XS650's used some different carburetors over the years.

Any of the suppliers listed should be fine.

ALMOST. Don't try to swap in a XS650 carburetor or carb body. They look the same, but they aren't. Yes, you can use XS650 carburetor parts.

Well, I think you COULD if you replaced ALL the jets, but since some of the air jets are perm pressed in that could be tough and yes, those are different. Also the metering passages and spring rates on things like the vacuum slides are different which is an issue, as well as the external passages are handled differently so it would be a daunting task, which while it may be possible if the right carb body cannot be found, I don't think would be worth the worked required. There has indeed been a lot of talk about this issue on XS400 and 650 boards and the same thing has been determined, it might be possible to repurpose, but it's not worth the work. You would however probably swap ALL the bodies from another set, since they would at least all be matched and then it would just be getting them tuned rather than trying to tune a mismatched carb which I agree might be close to impossible (it you HAD to do it, replacing the whole bank with 650 or 400 carbs would be the way to go IMHO).

I tried the 650 carb body swap. A lot of work as Cy pointed out. It didn't work. I think all the 650 carb parts swap over except the bodys.
