I've read about people grinding the ends of the 1st oversize rings to make them fit in bores that aren't terribly worn & only need honed. Can you also do this with larger oversize rings or only with the 1st oversize rings?
The OEM parts #'s for XS11/XJ11 rings are:
OEM #3J2-11610-00-00 - normal size
OEM #3J2-11610-10-00 - 1st oversize
OEM #3J2-11610-20-00 - 2nd oversize
OEM #3J2-11610-30-00 - 3rd oversize
OEM #3J2-11610-40-00 - 4th oversize
Are these oversize rings supposed to fit the original piston where the bore had to be enlarged and using these lets you keep the same piston, just getting larger rings or are they meant to be replacement rings for oversize pistons?
