  • Carb Vent

XJ 1100 Maxim. Removed the octy mess of hoses from the carb rack. Now the carbs are overflowing into the air box. Looking at the carbs I note there is no vent line, just two fuel lines. Shouldn't there be one??

    hi gaillarry,

the later model carbs dont have the vent tubes
like the early model carbs do,
they vent out the back of the carb bell,
if ur leaking fuel out into the air box, either the
needle and seat isnt sealing or the 'o' ring around the
seat is leaking. youll have to remove the carbs and suss it out.

You might want to change your oil too. If there's fuel flowing into the air box, it's probably in your oil also. Not worth the chance of destroying your engine.
