I've used the engine drain washer about 4-5 times and its ready to be replaced next time. I got them at Advanced Auto, 4 in a pack.

Thanks, I just bought the same package only in copper from AZ.

The middle and final drive plugs should already magnetic. You are fine to swap the main oil drain plug, if the plug head is small enough fit the final drive I don't see any reason you would have any clearance issues putting those plugs in the fill holes as well, could always turn things over by hand first to make sure.

Thanks for replying, what I meant was the new after market plugs by oil-tite (see the links in my previous posts) is their length an issue?

You might want to download a manual from member Catatonicbug's signature link. It will show you exactly where to find it, and it would be a silly mistake if you broke off the final drive vent thinking it was a fill plug... not doubting you but Im sure someone has done it.... middle drive takes 12 oz and final drive takes 10 oz...

Just realized I might have miss read you... do you mean you missplaced your spare? Lol... discard the last comment if so...

Tru-Valu, AceHardware in those specialty trays, 14mmx1.50....wide base, 13mm socket to remove. Also, they have the thick fiber gakets to match.

                      oilb plug gasket

i found out that the spark plug washer works great for sealing the plug to oil pan. needing one real bad and diggin around found that it fits perfect and seals great. can be used a few time i guess also.

Nice I like that oil pan plug seal idea. Will be using it the next time I change. Have a tiny tiny tiny leak at the plug. Also my FD filler plug is completely stuck. Would a torch loosen the bolt so I can get it out easier? Also are there replacements for these anywhere locally?

Heat will help remove the FD plug just be gentle and dont strip out the allen hole, gets real hard after that.

I just replaced my fill plugs on the MD and the FD with nice 13mm headed drain plugs I got at ace hardware. MD one fit great, the one for the FD I had to roll it against the bench grinder to narrow up the flange so it fit down in the recess. Then found the fill hole is not threaded that deep so then I had to cut about 3/32 off the threads and now she fits perfect and looks good!

Good on you Nate! Glad to see SOMEONE following a sound reccomendation and plug and play fix! Have not done the fill plug on the final yet, but knowing the reduced threaded distance and the recess is why I suggested using the same style plug and the narrower close fitting gaskets. Looked like by doubleing them up it would solve both the recess and short thread distance.......Solve both issues at the same time. As for heating up original fill caps.......NOT even a good idea! The allen-cap being stainless WILL seize even tighter to the aluminum housing. On the middle drive, snap a good pair(no cheapies) of vise grips on the slightly protruding top and pop vise grips with a small hammer. Has worked hundreds of times for me, every time. Then toss that thing and get a cap and gasket(the thick fiber ones right next to the drain plugs) at your local Tru-Valu or Ace Hardware. I only changed my middle drive fill plug cause I got tired of looking at the notches from the vise grips when up close to it.
