Well, I've been thrashing pretty heavy on the SG, and have it far enough along to where it's worth looking at...
Cleaned and primered frame. I did a couple small mods; removed the reflector mounts at the neck (the reflectors are MIA anyway..) and modded the rear turn mounts to eliminate those rubber isolators..
... welded in a couple of heavy shock absorber washers; perfect for this.
... lots of parts to install...
Repainted motor back in the frame, starting to install the rest...
Rear wheel/fender on, new turn sigs fitted...
... as well as the exhaust, front end. I used a 'standard' fork assembly, as I'm just not enamoured of the Special front brakes. I also used a 17" rear wheel, as the taller tire fills the wheel opening better IMO. I know that limits tire choices, but I just like the looks better.
Next up is wiring (oh, joy..), install/repair the harness, headlight, gauges, etc...
... somewhere in this pile is the harness I'm going to use...
Still have to do the carbs and bodywork on the tank (it is clean inside ) and pick a color. I'm building this one for resale, so it'll probably be boring black or resale red...
