I just noticed you ditched the octy. Make sure you keep the petcocks in the off setting when not in use. They were just rebuilt before you got the bike...but if they fail or your floats stick, they will leak fuel into the oil and mess up your motor. If you ever notice the oil level getting higher you'll know why.
What is the point to ditching the octy? It was also just rebuilt. Was it not working? That fact that fuel wouldn't flow unless the bike was running was a good thing. Ithought......it's your bike.
