Jets
My pilots are 42.5, mains are 110 for some reason, and main air jet is 185.
Also anyone know where I can get some new rubber o-rings for my valve seats.1980 XS1100SG "Black Mamba" 28K

Should I maybe be looking at just getting kits? Need a couple gaskets and those O-rings and stock mains. Maybe the guy who has a box of parts for this has the original mains or something Anyways the carb is all clean and ready to be put back together. Everything is looking good. Wish I had the damn stuff I needed to put it back together. HA i guess you live and you learn. I didn't really want to buy kits if I didn't need to tho, so I guess I might have found my answer.1980 XS1100SG "Black Mamba" 28K

Later carbs came with 110 and 115 in the mains. The outer two were 110 and the inner two were 115. The oring's I used I bought at Napa and they were a tight fit but work well. Just lubed them up a bit and pushed them in with a screwdriver handle.2-79 XS1100 SF

Those jet sizes are what I run in my SH. Runs great. The o-rings can be found in a kit of nitrile o-rings from Harber Freight that you can get for $3-4. Kit has 100 o-rings.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Reassembled
I got the bike put back together today...I need to get a new float for carb no.4 since it is different than the other 3 and seems to get caught on the carb body(not now as I shimmied it a bit). Also I will be putting in all 4 new gaskets, and maybe getting new o-rings for the valve seats. Other than that everything looked really good. I messed with the idle earlier and Set all the idle screws to 1 1/2 turns out during rebuild. Seemed to take awhile for the bike to really run normal. It sounds like it is running ok, but the headers are super hot, and I checked the plugs and the inner two were creamy white, and the outer two were black. No.2 header is still a bit cooler than the rest as well. Thinking about making a sync tool with olive oil bottles like I saw on youtube so I can sync the carbs and then mess with the idle. Scared to take it for a ride. Is that adviceable if the running condition is suspect? Again I got the idle at 1100 but seems like its running really hot. Any suggestions? Kinda wanna try em out today.

So regarding the jetting again. I we mentioned stock were 110 and 115. Should I get 115 mains for 2 and 3. and 110 for 1 and 4. Does that help keep the heat down on 2 and 3? What is the actual purpose of the different main jets? I have the whole thing torn down right now so I can do some maintenence on it. New tires, brake pads, fixed a few things. Used the bent washer trick to fix leaky petcock on right side. Waiting on fuel lines and need to get some fuel filters. Where is the appropriate place for in-line fuel filters on my bike? Just bought the SyncPro Carb tuner too so when I get her put back together I can get it all tuned up and running right. Should I be doing a compression check since I just got this thing 3 weeks ago and have no idea what it is...and should/can I do it myself without ruining anything
