    82 xj-1100

I had the plug fall out of the chain tensioner. Can I get a replacement or should I upgrade the tensioner. If I upgrade the tensioner what tensioners work? Thanks for the help.

Sorry about that, apparently it won't show the search results when copying the URL?

Just type in "cam tensioner plug" without the quotes in the search window/drop down, and you'll find plenty to read!

You can do the upgrade, and it's really simple to do - IF you can locate a replacement. If you need to just replace that plug, you can do that too. It's a $5 part from a local dealer. Just a little metal disk covered in rubber. Coat it in RTV before inserting it, and you should be good.

When I picked up my XJ the little plug was missing and had the little drip. I just went to my local car parts store and found a rubber plug that was in the general purpose "help" section that fit in the hole tightly. No more drips.
