  • Drive line oil capacity 79special

So being as my clymer manual is MIA in my messy shop, I want to know what oil to put in the middle and final drives and what is the milliliter volume for each. I don't care what the dipstick reading is because the bike didn't come with one and I'm wanting to change the oil in each anyway. And is there a size of seal that will stop the leak in my middle drive?

    Middle: 370cc
    Final: 300cc

80W90 gear oil, most of us use synthetic or synthetic blend. Regular dino gear oil is ok though.

Middle drive rear seal is #21 on microfiche...

I suggest you still use a dip stick to verify the oil level once it's filled. My FD made a nasty mess on my driveway when it "burped" the extra oil out the top. I thought I had added the correct amount, and I didn't bother to verify it... You can download printable, one-time-use dipsticks from the link in my signature, or you can still get the OEM ones from the dealer for about $8-12.
