I have the emulators, but the springs have yet to arrive. I have new brake lines from Bremzen, but they haven't sent the sintered brake pads yet. That's all for next month.
I have to change fork seals tomorrow due to leak. I guess I'll shim the springs with some PVC while I'm at it.

If you have the forks apart for replacing the seals, might as well drill the damper rods for the emulators while you're in there. You could use your old springs until the new ones arrive. The emulators will give you 3/4" of additional preload with your old springs. JAT2H7 (79) owned since '89

I just took the 11 out for a shakedown. I was actually walking away from some sport bikes going up rt 60 towards the rock pile. (For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, the road winds like a snake.)
On the way home, after a stop sign, I accelerated to the redline in 1st, then 2nd. I shifted into third and I'm on three cylinders again. I stuck my hand under the airbox and it came up wet with gasoline. I'm three miles from home, so I have to continue. I intentionally hit a few bumps and it cleared up again.
If I buy the GEORGEFIX kits that just have needles, should that take care of the problem? Originally #4 was trouble and caused me a fire. Now, it's #2.Marty (in Mississippi)

I am thinking that your float are dropping to low and the needle gets cocked. See if you have the tab to stop the floats from dropping down.Nathan

Floats
Hi Marty, I had the exact same problem, reworked the carbs 5 times I put in the 920 needle kits (mine required a thicker washer to seal to the carb body) and put it all back togather Turned the gas on and, running out the airbox again Took it apart #5 time, and Phil told me to check the float drop stop, they were loose and floats were dropping to low, bent the tangs, I also polished the float posts and retainer pins (has a small burr on one) Back togather AGAIN, and happly ever after

Marty,
I had/have the same sporadic flooding problem on #4. It only hapens when it's on the sidestand for an extended period of time, like overnight.
What happens is that the wires on the top of the main needle get sideways on the float tang and the needle sticks open. And, yes, I did install the hex head bolts you gave me and that has made it possible to take the bowl off and correct the issue, twice now..... thanks!!!
Phil mentioned that "stopper" tang adjustment but I haven't taken the carbs off yet to do it. I just use the centerstand when it's unused for a long while.1980G Standard, Restored
