After 15 years of ownership and 122,000 miles, it was time to let it go. A major problem was both crankshaft oil seals were leaking and was afraid to split the crankcase because it could do more damage to an otherwise good running motor.
It was a great mount; daily commuter, good unit to explore places around Dallas / Ft Worth, did my first long ride from Texas to Ohio, and qualified me into the Iron Butt Association.
But all things come to an end as parts or donor bikes were getting harder to find, the fairing, bags, bits and pieces were wearing out. Found a 2004 Honda ST1300 which the dealer offered a $500 trade-in value. Couldn't pass it up so now "Blue Bulldog" and me will make new memories.
I'll keep in touch and pass my experience to any who will listen. The XS11 is a great bike...
