  • Tci

Question for the electrical guru's, which is the correct TCI for a 79F. I have 2 of them with different numbers. I will probably be selling or trading the TCI that I don't need.

Thank you Nate, that is the one that was on the bike, but with all the other stuff that is buggered up, I couldn't be sure. I can't get to the other bike to check right now. It's at my Mom's house right now. She passed away 2 Fridays ago and I have been unable to get over there yet. My sister has the key and I can't find mine.

            Correct TCI

First thank you for your condolences. It has been a rough couple of months. She started declining right after Thanksgiving. She had congestive heart failure, COPD, liver failure, and osteoperosis. It took a broken hip and wrist from a fall to finally stop her.

I now have time to work on the bike (and it's good therapy) so I started going though my spare parts. Since the 2H7 is the correct TCI, I have a 4R0-10 that I don't need. SWMBO cut the funding of my 2nd bike back until I get rid of some acummulated parts. I'll be listing them here in the next week or so.

Very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. Mine is getting there, couple hospital stays this year already.

That TCI is for an 81 model year engine. It has the mechanical advance built into it, so it has to match up wiht a timing setup that does not have the mech advance. Some folks run it on the XJ successfully as well.
