  • What if?

I wonder if everyone from XS11.com met some place in the USA whether or not we could set a record for the most vintage motorcycles gathered in one location? Feedback is encouraged!

I was thinking just XS 11's but that's not set in stone.

I think that if this was to be done, that it should be limited to XS11'S.

It would have to be located to where the Canadian guys could try to make it as well. Maybe centered in the U.S. and more northerly?

I think XJ's should be invited too! After all, they make up a large portion of the membership here.

I agree.. I suppose we need to draw the line some where.. What year model would we stop at?

Well, the XS1100 and XJ1100 went from '78 to '84, right? Easy enough. They just have to be "Eleven's"

My Sportster list has been doing something like this for the last 5-6 years. They've gotten about 60-70 riders as an average turn-out (and before anybody starts dissing Harley riders, I'll point out that almost none 'trailered' in and they did get multiple riders from both coasts).

They made arrangements with a 'bike-friendly' campground near Kansas City MO (close to the HD assembly plant so they could tour it) as that was deemed a good 'middle'.

The only major complaint was those who camped on the ground nearly got ate up by chiggers... After the first year, the cabins started going for a premium
Fast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

The funny part is, if you look at the map, the center of the country is EMPTY of members! Maybe that makes WY, NE or SD neutral territory.

I may have to do some research here. As far as number of 11's, I suppose we could do a survey?

Minnesota / Wisconsin. That's about as north central as one can get. Milwaukee? Decent road to ride, and you can show up the hardleys cause its their headquarters
