Well, if you got all members to bring all their running bikes, you might get a pretty big number, but there would sure be a herd of trailers!

I could to Milwaukee. Only 6 hours from me! That seems a bit far East for the SoCal folks though.

Looks like there is a ton of people on the east coast (accordign to ZeeMaps) and a lot on the west coast, so it would almost be more practicle to hold two meets, simultaniously, one near each coast. But I guess that kinda defeats the whole purpose.

BTW, how do I get myself on the ZeeMaps?

response to "What if" XS, XJ + rally

I think the idea to have a big rally would be cool. I need a good reason to get out and ride (I have been cuddling with my craftsmen snow thrower these past months) and meet any of the awesome owners that contribute to this forum. I'm a 2nd year rookie myself, I have 3 XS's, and 1 and a have XJ's, but only my Midnight Special runs at this time(wow, do I ever have my work cut out for me)! And, living in the Lansing, Mi area, I would have it easy getting to the location compared to many other owners. So, hopefully, this rally will happen.

And, thanks to everyone for such a helpful site.

                  driving distances

I feel your pain, XSive Okie. I just drove from Lansing to Florida and back to pick up a XJ 1100 Maxim. That was a long trip. Of course, it was in a GMC suburban with a trailer and a support driver too.

I know it's far from centrally located, but if we are going to do it, then why not to it right and go slay the Dragon?

That looks cool, but it's a bit far for those of us on the west coast. The farther away it is, the more time I'd have to take off from work. Although, from what I'm hearing, there's a good chance I may be working out of state a lot this summer, so I might not be riding much at all.

                                Cheaters Never Win....

Meeting together in real world/real time would be cool. But coordinating has its difficulties and attendance may not be 100%.

Why not cheat? Have everyone send in a pic and then photoshop everyone into the same frame? Background could be a field and the members would stretch out to the horizon.

Sort of a virtual "If you build it they will come"...

Please oh please put me in the back. (WAY in the back....)
