  • XJ1100 pilot screws.

    Hi all,

does anyone happen to know the part numbers for the XJ pilot jet mixture/adjusting screws?
If so, it would be a great help....I need to order some and the supplier can't find them in the parts list.

    Many thanks,
    Mike.

The XJ uses the same version carb as the 80 and later XS models and you can get the idle mixture screws from MikesXS, just get the ones for the BS34 carbs which are what we have. He has kits that include everything related to the screws together.

      750 FD Mod
TC Spin on Oil Filter Adapter (temp removed)
      XJ1100 Front Footpegs
      XJ1100 Shocks

I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.

Thanks both for your responses. Much appreciated. Unfortunately the pilot screws aren't listed on the XJ parts diagram.

If anyone can let me know the actual part numbers I'd be grateful.

        Many thanks again,
        Mike.

I think that's because they are not available from Yamaha at any price. The XJ carbs are the same as the 81 XS1100 carbs, which the only two differences being the choke/enricher hookup and the jet sizes. Other than that, they use the same carb kits, and the same idle mixture screws. MikesXS has them, but I don't know the part number, but they are the only ones they list for BS34 carbs on his site (650's use the same carbs, just in pairs on the 80-84 models). They use the blunt tip mixture screws, and don't break off like the earlier carbs, but they can get stuck if cross threaded. They also have o-rings that usually need to be replaced, also available on the same site (they have kits with all those parts).
