      Hey there GJA,

Just checked your Profile, says you have an 80SG, but in your post you call it an XS1.1 G? Are you outside the USA??

Okay, I think I remember someone (?Scott/3phase) posting the airbox photos, but not sure and can't find. I did find a photo by Ken regarding another issue, but it shows the bottom of the airbox, the RECESSED area where the mounting screws are, and it's IN that area that you want to drill the holes, so that the air will be drawn up thru there and into/thru the filter into the surrounding airbox and finally into the carbs. IF you drill outside that recess, you'll be providing UNFILTERED air to the carbs/engine!

That aside, you say you've OWNED the bike since '92. You have 4-1 pipes, but still the stock airbox. What maintanence have you done to the carbs? Have you done any rejetting?

Any better description of it's performance besides "FARTS"? Are you able to get thru the 5krpm mark and have it rev on up to redline okay, or does it just run out of power and won't rev above 5k??

Lots of things can contribute to loss of power, electrical, fuel, etc.!

jets drilled to 1.5mm, drilled airbox,4 into 1, free flowing airfilter, mixture screw 3 1/4 turns out [ to stop popping on throttle backoff ]. the xs has never run so well or reved so freely. Now must work on better stoppers
