The 6.25 is top of the cover to bottom of the bowl so you could probably knock almost 1 to 1.5 inches off that measurement.

One thing to remember with USC's is that because of wave building and canceling, there will be areas within the bath of higher and lower 'activity.' I bring this up mainly because you want a little room to move them around in the bath so that nothing gets missed. I also recommend getting one with a heater. Or, you could do like I do and preheat the solution before you put in in the USC. Not only with the solution itself dissolve gunk better warm, but cavitation is more efficient in a warm solution. And if that is not TMI, I have also read that cavitation is more efficient in solution that has less gas dissolved in it (another feature of a hot liquid). PS you are going to be amazed when you pull those things out of the bath (SO shiny before oxidation dulls them again).

I know this has been talked about before, but what kind of juice to use? how much of the rubber will i have to remove before dunking?

Recently, I thought very seriously about using the USC in combination with yamaha's new carb dip stuff that you dilute with water. But, then I thought that as well as Simple Green works, why bother.

Can Pine-Sol be used in the USC? Also, with Pine-Sol, do you need to remove the rubber diaphragms?

Never tried it. Sure would be some nice smelling carbs, though. Another thing I read which seems worth mentioning , is to never use anything flammable in a USC.

                    pinesol use

                    Hi,
Ive had great luck with pinesol on the last three sets of carbs that Ive done. The racks remained intact, just dunked in a plastic tub. As many soft parts as possible removed, but three of the enrichment plungers remained with the rack. No usc used at all. I left them in for at least a full day.

I did two sets of carbs with Pine Sol and it worked great. Need to be very careful to wash it all off or it will corrode parts that aren't aluminum like the choke slide. I washed with a hose and then blew with compressed air to get all the Pine Sol out. Did that several times.
