Regarding the self confessed "expert" who advised Beechfront not to bother with dynacoils, It reminds me of some of the crappy advice I've had rammed down my throat from bikeshops over the years. When inquiring about 4-1 systems for an xs11, I was told "That sort of bike is not worth spending money on nowadays". When asking for ignition parts for my gs1000s, I was told "You will find that those old bikes will be more trouble than they're worth". When ordering some jets for an xs11, and the man behind the counter heard I'd drilled the airbox, I was told "You can't do that" because "the slides will only open 2/3rds at full throttle".
The fact that the bike was putting out more power and running faster than ever before didn't matter. I was advised to "Go home and tape up the holes". I went to get some exhaust gasket rings for an xs11. The man behind the counter rummaged through his computer for 10 minutes, then announced "We haven't got any in stock, but we can get some in for you. Fair enough.
I went behind the counter and looked at the screen. Lo and behold, theres a diagram of gsx parts. I go "Its xs1100 mate" He goes "No, No, No, you mean GSX 1100". What the hell do you say? Tossers.
Question. What's the definition of an expert?
Answer. An ex is a hasbeen, and a spert is a drip under pressure!
