    Green Dayna's

From experience I can tell you the 3.0 Ohm green DynaCoils work great. Give a nice fat spark and do not stumble when getting up around redline.

Bypass the resistor with these. I use 8.8mm ACCEL stainless wires with them and never seem to have a lack of ignition power or any high-voltage arcing to the head as can be common with the stock coils with made-on wires and terminal ends.

HOWEVER, you may need to make a few small mounting angles since they do not directly bolt up.

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.

I put Dyna Coils on my XJ650 and I believe there is a difference I can feel. One thing I did discover is the engine barked louder immediately after exchanging the coils. Very assertive acceleration. I'm transferring these Dynas to the XJ11 this weekend. I've always liked high output ignitions.

        Hi James,
I checked the XS1100UK forum history to see what the problem was and found that when you registered you put your email address in wrong. Happily I also see that you have now successfully registered with the right email address.

        Talk to you soon.

          Good question

'Miti' on the UK forum did a calculation of the max voltage figure for an XS1100 running the Honda VF1000 coils ( it's here ) this shows a max of 82kV.

Funnily enough, that's the same maximum as given for the 'Ultimate High Output Coil' (Part #17-6903) on Mikes XS.

I changed mine because one of the OEM's was cracked in the coil body (must've happened when I came off). To be honest I havent really noticed a significant improvement (it always has been a good starter) but they were a helluva lot cheaper ($15.00) than anything else I could lay my hands on. Fitting them was 'interesting' and I ditched the resistor. So far they seem to work okay but i guess time will be the real proof.

Also noticed yesterday that the XJR coils are remarkably similar to OEM XS coils so now going to do some reasearch on them.

You can get the green dyna coils from Z1 Enterprises for 126.00 USD. Cheaper than mikes xs green coils. I would not get the black coils from Mikes xs. I have had them fail after a short time. Other members also have had similar issues with the back ones.

Z1 will ship to the UK.

I think shipping is around 25.00 USD

Here is the link for the dyna coils from Z1. http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=210

              Hope this helps.
