well i been waiting for about 2 weeks for a responces from this guy on ebay that makes the jet kits..

i asked him if they would fit my 79 xs1100 special?

his responce was and i quote:

Seems like it doesn't come with a needle of different design than original. You could make this kit yourself by buying jets in larger sizes by standard rule of thumb. One size up on the main jet for 4-1, 2 sizes for pod air filters. The slide lift hole is often drilled out with dynojet kits. You can get the drill bit size from dynojet's website and looking up their kit. Or just enlarge it to next commonly available drill bit size (just a tad in other words). If the maker of the kit hasn't tried it out on an early model xs1100, I'd make my own kit, which is what I did. Oh, and move the needle washer under the E clip (instead) of above to richen up the midrange. Or you can buy more and put in another washer. I think z1 enterprises probably sells the needle adjusting washers.

Sorry, but at that price, I think I'd better trust a DynoJet kit. I would at least ask how he is able to design such a kit (knowledge). Are they knockoff DJ kits? Is he some sort of Cycle_God who can just conjure up perfectly tuned kits that include PERMANENT modification of your parts (ie. drilling out slides). Why are all the parts listed as "mod"...? You should do some serious research before dumping that kink of cash on mystery parts. Beside, what exactly is wrong with Mikuni parts again?

They did but don't anymore... you can still find them new on amazon... a little pricy though

These are listed as only for 80-83. Are there enough differences that these would not work on the earlier carbs?

Now these are listed as for 78-79.

DinoJet itself even says that they do not have kits for the early carbs. So then if some other distributors still have some in stock that is a different story.

Guys that was just one place I searched a few months back and found more

This one adds it to the cart. There were several pdf's with the needle part number and jet size. The jets were 124, 128 and 132. I didn't see the drill size. And. According to the jet chart I posted a few weeks ago dynojet flows different so a 132 dj is more than a 132 mikuni. I found 2 different part numbers you can search for. Djy4124 or e4124 either one is the 78/79 kit

I noticed the newer kit has 190 airjets and a different needle part number.
