Do you mean the one to mount it, or the one to seal where the valve goes into the housing?Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

He has a special, and they are just a round o-ring. Not sure on the size though. You have to be sure you get one that's fuel resistant though.1980 XS850SG - Sold

When I had a special tank I actually used RTV to seal the petcocks on, worked great! (probably wouldn\'t do it again though)Nathan

I have a couple spares I can measure. The ones that come in the kits are not oval they come round.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Over time the gas seeped out around the petcocks and went under/through the paint. It stripped the paint off the bottom edge of the tank and made a mess that was really hard to clean up, seal and repaint.-- Scott

O-ring
The "gaskets" between tank and petcock are not O-rings, they are oval's, some with dividers to insure screw/fuel seal. Just buy the right "gasket" for your bike/year After all, they are cheap/ adv. and gas leaking down on to a hot motor/exaust1979 XS1100 Special (Mad Max, OEM) Current

The O-ring I'm talking about is the one behind the lever that shuts off the gas. I want to get some spares without having to buy the whole rebuild kit1979 XS 1100 SF(16k now, more to come)
