Hey guys, I could use a pic of the front master cylinder internals to rebuild it, as I have the rebuild kit already, I checked the search and couldnt find a decent pic or explanation. I pulled the piston out, the rubber stuff was all decomposed, as far as I could tell the spring goes in, then the rubber cover? then the piston with the rubber seal which I rolled over the lip according to the tech tips. So, I dont f up the whole thing a pic or good diagram would really help. I looked at the bikebandit but when I blow up the pic its all distorted,,,,,,,this is for the rebuild of a 78 standard fixer.....thanks, Mike in Sun Diego

Mike, there is a tech tip somewhere or an FAQ on how to put the seal on the plunger, it shows it pretty clear. There is als a good diagram of it HERE
If I still had a spare laying around, I'd break it down, but alas I sold all of them off but the one on Banshee. Your a nice guy and all Mike, but I don't like you enough to tear it open and bleed the system back out.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
When your work speaks for itself, don't interrupt.

kind of helps
Thanks DXSGER,,,,,the pic sort of helps, I used the tech tip to put the seal back on but it doesnt show all the other seals and spring assembly. THe spring is big on one end and small on the other,,,,the original one was the same diameter, a dilemma, and the other rubber seals I am clueless to assembly since the originals were in pieces. So far I have the steel shaft with rubber seal on correctly but am not sure on the spring and other rubber pieces.....mike

Mike, the correct order starting from the inside out is:
1. Spring. The large end goes in first, the small end should have a 'cap' on it that goes against the..
2: Inner seal. The 'cupped' side goes towards the spring.
3. Flat washer.
4. Piston with seal.
5. Plastic 'cushion' washer
6. Snap ring piston retainer.
7. Outer boot seal
8. Boot retainer clipFast, Cheap, Reliable... Pick any two

not sure if ur aware or not,
but u need to give the master cylinder a bleed
before bleeding the calipers, this can be done on
or off the bike in a vice.pete
