It's a 2H7 vin. Here is the response I got from him.
Of course some things are not original to the E-model, the bike has been changed with 79 XS11 Special round headlight, round turnsignals and round gauges etc. Vin# is very early production from first month of buildyear for the XS1100E. 2H7003XXX. I build it the way I wanted it and I never liked the square components on the XS1100 standard.
Still does not explain th 1.1 badges though

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
Elevener... i wouldnt sell mine for any amount but i know its not worth 2300 or even 1500!
Its more sentimental to me. I got alot of miles on this one that i added. It might as well been new when i boght it with 8000 miles on it. It looked new. I would not have paid 1300 for it in the past it was about 100 bucks per cc. 1500 Is too much for an 82 xj 650 if you ask me. Unless it was the turbo...
