hone
Once again, not picking a fight, just trying to help other members. I would "recomend" using a ridge reamer to "lightly" remove the ridge at the top of the cyl made from the upper ring (this will also make your hone more true). The stones are to help restore "true shape" to cyl's, the ball hone is to make a cross hatch pattern "in" the walls of cyl's, this is what makes the rings seat to the walls properly. You may be able to rent the stuff you need but If you have a "nice guy bike shop" who will hook you up for a few $ or a case of beer, I used to help out neighbors like that when I had my shop If you do it yourself, use plenty of honing oil all the time there is movment and "constently" move the stones/balls from "top" to "bottem" of cyl's "rappidly", good luck with you bike
