Just wondering if anyone lived near Omaha, NE that had a colortune!? I could go buy one, but, i have a baby on the way and the wifey said its not a "reasonable investment right now" lol. oh well. might have to part with some stuff to get a few more bux for this thing. THANKS GUYS

Overrated
You can only tune the idle with the colortune. I can't imagine any possible way to see the color of the combustion process while you're riding or when the motor is under load without a dyno to run it on. I had one of those thing some time ago.You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...

I'm guessing that some have trouble adjusting them because ...
Carbs not properly synced so you can drop the idle low enough to hear the difference when your turning them in and out ... then again some may have coil/plug/valve adjustment problems or a combination etc etc etc

I dunno about you folks, but the colortune is a GREAT tool! Maybe my ears aren't tuned as well as others, but I can't dial in the mixture screws to 1/16th of a turn by ear, but I can with the Colortune plug.1980 XS850SG - Sold

I agree
Colortune is great tool for adjusting the idle, but I don't run around much on idle. I get a real smooth idle with synch and ear. The transition from idle to midrange and above is more important to me and a colortune is useless for that.You can't stay young forever, but you can be immature for the rest of your life...
