Does anyone know if the XJ rims will fit an XS?

XJ front rims will fit an XS. The XJ used slotted rotors, but difference is cosmetic...solid rotors from the XS will fit just fine. Use either style. Tire size is the same for both models, 100/90-19.
Some model XS-11s used a 17 inch rear rim, not the XJ's 16 incher, and the rear rim swap between sizes cannot be made without some work. A 16 to 16 swap is a bolt-in change. (Do a search on rear tire or rim swap...there are some older threads on the 16 - 17 inch conversion.) I think the XS rear rotor has a different offset than the XJ, so I would use the XS rotor. Tire size for both 16 inchers is the same, 130/90-16.
Both XJ rims are designed for tubeless tires, making this a good upgrade for older tube-style rims.Jerry Fields

I'd say an XJ rear is sorta rare cause all the other swirl wheel bikes had drum I THINK (not sure about 900 seca)Comment

Yea but they were drum in the rear not disc. Would they still interchange?Comment

Wasn't the 1000 & 1100 Virdogos rear disk? I'm pretty sure the 750 had a drum on the back but I don't remember what the bigger bikes had.Originally posted by fusionking

I don't think they were. If I get a chance I'll look at ebay. They have a HUGE virdogo section, It helps to know what will interchange pricewise and virdogo stuff runs a little cheaper and it seems XJ stuff runs a quite a bit higher.Comment

Ok I checked and they all looked like drums to me. Even the later ones. Unless they have some sort of a rotor cover? haha Only fast bikes need triple-disc!Comment

If that's the case, then the XJ1100 rear wheel is a pretty rare item. Anybody remember what the Seca 900 had for wheels? I always thought that was one of the nicest looking bikes Yamaha ever built.Originally posted by fusionking

Hey Geez! I looked at the XJ owners page and found a great pic of a 900 seca and they had rear disc. Different wheels tho. Nicer ones. IMHOComment
