That might have been cool. I used to think about how to put an XJ1100 motor in a 900 seca. Not much gain there. Just lower gears? Now I dream of finding time to ride at all. I think your idea about the trim would be easier. Rare bike though. 750 seca stuff might work. They looked pretty cool.

      FYI:

The 81 Midnight Special came with Swirl rims. I suspect they are the same as the XJ (except black and gold).

        Brain fade

Hey Denny thanks for the reminder! Back when I had my 80 midnite I knew that ..............18 or so years later and it completely slipped my mind. So I guess that answers the original question! Yes they will fit cause YAMAHA already done it! I'd say that rear wheel would still be a little scarce tho.

I just got a back wheel on e-bay for $5! Of course they charged me $35 S&H. Then it was sent USPS Priority, and they were chrged $38.15. They made $1.85. But I still got the wheel for a total of $40. I have a front wheel coming from Geezer. Looks like I'm on a roll. HA, HA, HA.

What type of wheel was it? Good deal man! Ain't ebay a riot tho? Some people really make you wonder. Are you putting "swirl" wheels on a standard?

It was off a 82 XJ11. No, I am putting the "swirl" wheels on a special.
