  • LED Light Conversion

I am slowly changing over my lights to LED and right now I need a few dash lights. There are no numbers or anything on the bulb bases and I am trying to figure out which ones to order online but its a little hard when I have to numbers to compare. Anyone know what the bulb number is for the dash lights?

That's something I haven't been able to figure out either. Also depending on if the turn indicator is a single bulb or two you might need some extra stuff to keep both sides from flashing together.

They are a BA9s. Which is a bayonet base.

I ordered some last year from superbrightleds.com but they were way to bright for my liking.

        Hey Nate,

Take a look at the bottom of this page/thread:
        http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread...ght=led+lights

Mine's an 81SH, so the style of bulb base is probably different than what's in the 78. The 192 Bayonet vs. the ROUND type, but they provide both.

But it might help you see what style of LED worked for me that might also work for you!?

i got mine off ebay direct from china.

            alot cheaper even with shipping!!

i'm not sure if you have a single bulb for your turn indicator,
if so, you can't put an LED in it.

LED bulbs only flow current 1 way,
the turn signal reverses the curent when you go from left turn to right turn.

also the headlight indicator stays on because it reads a flaulty load.
because of the drop in current draw

also the low fuel indicator also works off of resistance, you change the load and it's also always on.

            However!!!!

The led's are great for gauge lighting.
i found that this shape works the best in the gauges.

The color is up to you, i tryed ALOT of different types and this shape bulb works the best for the gauges.

            have fun.
