    carb float

Hi everyone its been a while since I've been on. Thats because thanks to you guys I've been enjoying my bike. I have one of my carbs rigged but wanted to know if anyone could help me out. I need a carb float. Does anyone have one sitting around? I have a 1979 xs1100s with stock carbs with the brass floats. Just let me know what you want for it. Thanks

I also am looking for exhaust nuts if anyone has those or knows where I can get them. Plain ones are a pain.

Post on the Wanted to buy section for the float. I needed one a couple weeks ago and got one pretty quick by doing that.

For the exhaust nuts just go to Fastenal or someplace like that (I am sure you have one somewhere near you) and you can get any nuts or bolts you need in pretty much any finish you want usually on the spot.

I have a 79F. When I needed floats, I replaced them all Mikes XS plastic floats.

I might also have an entire set of plastics to sell. I hate the brass ones, but I do think I have some of them around as well. There is also lots of info on here about repairing the brass ones.

              Exhaust nuts

I went to my local True Value and got 8mm chrome acorn nuts. I am slowly replacing all my phillips head screws with stainless socket head or button head screws. When I need those I go to W.W. Grainger, if they aren't in stock they usually are there the next day. They are cheaper there than at a hardware store when you buy in quanity. Just my.02 worth

Have you gotten a float yet?

no I haven't obtained a float yet. To be honest I would like to replace with a brass one. If I used a plastic one I would have to change the others right? do you know the part # for those nuts on bike bandit?

If you check actual resulting fuel heights with a manometer, you could mix float types. I have not done that, but there is no reason that you couldn't do that.
