I am averaging about 15.5 km's per liter of gas.. which is about 45 mpg
      ( Imperial gallon )
That's about what I was getting before the needle/vacuum advance swap: ~37 mpg US on a good day, 28 to 34 mpg if I rode fast and hard for distance or into a headwind.

Thank you! for digging up that N.O.S. Service Bulletin advance pot and doing the leg work to find the the differences. I was wondering what Yamaha did with that part. I only have two bikes' worth of used parts to play with but I may have one of those Service Bulletin advance pots on my hands. I know there was less total travel on the '80 advance pot but total advance was at 5.mumble inches like the one in your bike.

Last year I was going to go to Salt Lake City, Utah to see some old friends after the Oregon rally, head over Colorado and try to catch up with you and Jerry, then mosy on over to see some of the mid-west crew in Oklahoma and Texas but lousy gas mileage killed that cunning plan.

With gas prices being what they are I may have to skip Washington/Oregon and The Great White North this year and just go up to Utah, then Colorado and points East and South to finish up the part of the trip I couldn't do last year.
