Rev Counter on XS 1.1

Hi guys I need bit of help, my rev counter is a bit jumpy, what do I need to do to fix it?

First thing I would look at is the connections for the alternator. Under the right side cover is the fuse box and a plate it mounts to with the starter solenoid and the run signal relay. Three screws hold the plate on, pull those and carefully pull the plate out. Behind it you should see two connectors with wires from the alternator. Make sure they are good and clean. It is not uncommon for them to be burned.
