    engine noise

Hello again. Fusionking topcat and marty. just got bike back together, took out for a ride. runs pretty good tooling around town.Got out on interstate noise happens when you hammer the throttle, noise is there emidiately all the way to top end. If you ease into throttle barely any noise at all. I'm not using indy filters but a uni filter similair to stock filter but made out of foam, and uses oil treatment to trap dirt. I did notice slight popping in exaust at idle but not under load. pulled cover off ignition adv unit.put timing light on it at idle timing is on the money not sure about full advance timing light won't work at that high rpm for some odd reason.forgot popping in exhaust seems to be #4 carb adjust idle mix screw will go away.I did check engine temp at exhaust pipes only 20-30 degrees diff in pipe temp. On nother note vac adv unit feels ok by hand moves freely .vac hose holds vac. motor has 28k on it. valves a little noisy. Do need to adjust. maybe there is something mechanical like vac adv chatter or sloppy chain. need to check comp. I do very much appriciate all your in put and advice. gives me things to look at. Once again thanks to everybody for the great advice.

Yeah. If you go up 2 sizes on the mains only, I'm picking you'll be pleasantly suprised.

Don't forget to check on the mechanical centrifugal advance behind the timing plate.

Is the Vacuum advance hose plugged into the carb or the intake manifold collar?

              vac hose

Vac hose is plugged into #2 carb. Have not disasembled vac adv unit to check inside yet .haven't had the time. will try to get to by weekend. Vac adv unit moves freely by hand and with vac applied to it.SO don't everybody have to much fun. Bike is up and running for now.
