What about mineral spirits or Orange Kleen in a parts washer? Do you think that will destroy the seals if the carbs soak for an hour or so? It seems like the only thing we wouldn't disassemble is the butterflies.

The aerosol carb cleaners are not the problem.

The paint can sized carb cleaners with the basket are the cleaners that you don't want the shaft seals to soak in. Those are the caustic cleaners that you can't stand to smell.

The aerosol cleaners are ok. Read the label through. I don't know what you can get in your area.

        Hi nate,
but would you dare to use your mother's toothbrush?
My wife asked me, have you seen my toothbrush?
I said, I saw our son detail cleaning his cylinder fins with a toothbrush.
He claimed one should get a new toothbrush every three months anyway so he was doing his mother a favour.
More than I'd dare to do, though.
