remember it's a shaftie so the wheel has to move the final drive gears and the driveshaft along with it.
It's worse than that?
The prime suspect is that the rear brake is dragging.
Quickie test, drive it around the block WITHOUT using the rear brake and feel the rear disk immediately you stop.
If the disk is hot or even warm, the brake is dragging.Fred Hill, S'toon

Take a rubber mallet and pound on the right side of the caliper a few dozen light blows then try again. If it's better, rebuild the caliper. Also do not use grease on the slide pins. It requires a synthetic or silicone based lube.

Be careful touching that disc after your ride around the block! If it's dragging it's going to be HOT! A couple of layers of crisp skin will just give you more resistance1979XS1100SF
