  • My Blue Balls are going to XS North .. ( project is done !!)

It took 3 parts bikes, lots of hours, lots of swearing and a span over 3 years off and on from when I first started it, my XS ( blue balls ) is finally finished ..

I did all the work myself, except the machining of the cylinders, rotors and head work which was given to my trusty machine shop guy who I dealt with for 25 + years..

tinman came over and helped out a fair bit too, thanks again James..

    Here is a brief rundown.

Frame is 1980 SG, sandblasted and powder coated.

1980 SG engine completely rebuild including 1179 kit, new bearings, new chains, valve job on head, everything put back to spec .. using bigger valve head and 3H5 cams, new clutch plates, new springs, 1st, 2nd, 5th gears are new etc, etc.

Carbs, later style, ultrasonic and bead blasted, with all new guts, including new diaphrams ( yes they can be changed without butchering the plastic keepers rings on the slides) running 42.5 and 115 mains right now till I get it broken in ..

    Other mods ..

    - Mikes Black coils
    - Mikes rear progressive shocks
    - Mikes XS pods
    - 4 into 1 mac exhaust right now, will try others when broken in ..
    - tkat fork brace ( installing tomorrow)
    - TC fuse box mod
    - 8 mm S.S. core plug wires
    - Progressive front fork springs
    - Standard handlebars swap
    - bike accents in pearl blue to match paintwork
    - All hardware swapped for stainless steel.

    - speedo and tach completely reconditioned, and odometer set to zero km's..

( the bike is basically a new bike, so zero km's it is too start off )

And a whole bunch more stuff .. I am to tired to list it all right now, but I will do a writeup at some point in time with a ton of pics ..

But this is a brand new bike, everything and I mean everything was ripped apart, reconditioned or replaced..

Lots of re-chroming and new chrome on the bike..

I would say 75 % of the bike is re-condtioned and the other 25 % parts are new.

For the crew going to XSNorth, you can check it out there.. I with be there with this bike 100 % for sure and looking to put some miles on it ..

Going for first ride tomorrow, should be fun !!

    Enjoy ..

Looks really sweet. Take lots of pics of those shiny Mac header pipes, they won\'t look that nice for very long, DAMHIK. I ended up painting mine black. Again, real sweet bike.

                  Shiny Blue Balls

                  I stopped by Bullets yesterday.
The pictures do no justice to this bike. Everything on this XS was repaired or replaced as necessary. Attention to the smallest detail is incredible. You are sick man Dan!
Those of you coming to XS North and get to see this bike up close will be in for a treat.
