      Front caliper on E Bay

Saw the caliper on Evil Bay. Looks like a P.O.S. Was hoping for a working / better condition caliper ! Brian ( Price is O.K. )

Did something terrible happen to that caliper? Most times a thorough cleaning are all they need and reuse the seals. The little outer one is not that critical.

You might PM DGXSER - he's parting one out right now.

Or try Andreas Weiss, a member here who parts them out. He has supplied quality parts at real fair prices to forum members on here for years. I personally have two XS11s that would not be running without his help.

Just a note, the LH is not the same as an SH. It matches the XJ in brake systems. I looked at the fiche, they are a screwy beast to say the least. On all other XS models I have seen the two front calipers are basically identical, just mirrored side to side on the specials. On these two models the right and left front mount ocmpletely different and neither one looks to have the single bolt beveled pad design of the Special models.

                differences

Yeah, I've noticed that they are hard to come by. I think mlew is going to sell me one that he has. 82 - 84 XJs use the same ones ! Brian

Can you not rebuild the one you have. You can find small 2 and 3 legged brake hones. They work well. I even found a very small 2 legged brake hone that fits into the MC bore.

                    Rebuild

Unfortunately, a ' helper ' threw most of the caliper away, with lots of my spare brake , including the mounting parts for this caliper. Brian
