Ok I went and checked out the pipes. No stamping on them and I'll add that they have a crossover just in front of the rear wheel ..... hmmm

          Sweeeeeeet

HOLY CRXXXP,,,Nice restore job,,,,its great to see there are still barn finds and great restorable ones at that. We all need to keep our eyes open and find as many of these xs1100's as possible before the Rust Gods do enough damage that they are not recoverable. Sweet job on the bikes,,,,,I am in awe of the members that can take one and turn out a beautiful bike from abandoned bikes. Mike in Sun Diego

Thanks for all the compliments!!! I really had a blast rebuilding her. Even more now that she's road ready. I didn't know what to expect since I primarily ride smaller machines. I used to have a VTX1800 and loved the power but hated the weight. I never took it out of the garage it was such a gorilla.

But this machine!!!!!! Wow is it well sized and balanced ... and the midrange and top end power ...... HOLY CRAP!!!!!

BTW that's the ORIGINAL paint you're looking at. Just polished and polished until it glowed again....

Feel good about your work, great job. Now drive it instead of looking at it.
