do i need this gear

well i brike it

well you can remove shift drum right out the side and the detent bolt and keeper were on there i did have the spring and detent plunger thing but in the process i broke the metal detent part i have the spring but i need metal thing with the twisty grooves in it in this picture any one have one for me.

ok got it in but

well i did get the ciuntershaft in and even the kickstart gear.

the shuft drum comes right out you just have to lift up the shift drum stopper.
and it slides right the side, so i slid it out a little and put the cam stopper on.
then the clip.
you only have to split case if you you have to change bolt and keeper, those were still in bike.
so i was ready to put fork and fork shaft in but i realized that i dint slip the forks in before the countershaft, wich is fine for 1st and 3rd fork but not 2nd fork so i slid up the shift drum pin and backed the shift druym out far enough to get the 2nd one up into place and i was fitting the shift drum back in its slot when i realized it wont go back in with the 3rd shift fork on need about 1/8 inch so it was binding and i broke the detent pin.
SO CLOSE.
SO for future referance if you install your countershaft you can back out the shiftdrum far enough install middle (2nd) fork in place then slip shift drum back in then install fork #3 and then fork #1 then fork shaft.

i orderd anouther detent pin from yamaha. darn now i have to wait till next week all on acount of a lousy pin.

should be smooth after that i did a dry run of slipping out shift drum installing middle fork and 3rd fork minus detent pin of course. and slipped in fork shaft easy so i just have to repeat the process when i get pin i will let you know.
